About us
‘I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.’ — Edward Everett Hale
History
Founded in 1993, SouthernCare is the Community Aid Service of SouthernLife Church. Our service is a not-for-profit organisation and non-government funded. We are exclusively funded by donations, church contributions and various grants when successful.
Almost solely volunteer run, SouthernCare is overseen by an independent board and a management team who inspire an atmosphere of service through their dedication to engaging and strengthening our community.
Who we assist
SouthernCare provides support and care to the most vulnerable individuals and families within the Eurobodalla Shire. As an equal opportunity service provider, no person is excluded from our service because of age, ancestry, colour, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, creed, marital status, disability, or medical conditions. We place high value and respect on each client’s privacy and confidentiality.
Our Values and Vision
SouthernCare is founded on the Christian values of Love, Faith, Service, Partnership and Excellence. Our vision is to be an expansive, non-discriminatory, caring and compassionate, Christian-principled support and care charity, offering practical aid and assistance to those in our community within the scope of our resources and personnel.
Our Aim and Mission
Our aim and mission is to exemplify and promote the love, compassion, and message of Jesus Christ through Christian-based charitable works. We aim to meet the urgent needs of clients in crisis and difficult circumstances, by providing important services, all with a common cause of serving people in need and assisting them to achieve optimal quality of life.
We are driven by excellence and committed to creating hope, opportunity and action that has a deep and lasting impact. We are dedicated to supporting individuals and families to break through generational cycles of addiction, abuse, low self-esteem and poverty by responding to the evolving needs of the community and attempting to meet both immediate and long-term needs.
